Marcus Coates’ two-screen video projection Journey To The Lower World finds Coates offering a set of residents in Liverpool a Shamanistic ritual as a way of trying to investigate their concerns over the potential destruction of their homes. He uses the mechanism of reporting back information received from animal spirits and engages the residents in conversations about the possible meaning and interpretation of this experience.
